The area is part of Pacific Rim National Park and contains hundreds of wilderness islands no larger than 2 km (1.3 mi.) across.
The Broken Islands are located in Barkley Sound on the west coast of Vancouver Island in British Columbia. The inner islands offer sand fringed bays, quiet coves, and narrow sheltered waterways. The exposed shores of the outer islands are rugged and weather worn, shaped by Pacific winter storms. The island channels host an incredible amount of marine and intertidal life, providing hours of beachcombing and kayaking pleasure. Porpoises, seals, sea lions, gray whales and over 200 species of sea birds inhabit the nutrient rich waters.
Tours of Exploration offers a four day sea kayaking expedition that is suitable for novice and experienced paddlers.

Itinerary
DAY 1
Meet at 7:00 AM in Toquart Bay. From here the group will have a quick breakfast and orientation. Then load the kayaks and depart for the short crossing into the Broken Islands.
DAY 2 - 4
Paddle the crystal clear waters of Barkley Sound and explore the vast wonders of this fascinating area. Clusters of picturesque islands, hidden coves and inlets, protected waters around the inner islands and the option of ocean swells around the outer islands all await your paddling pleasure.
