Day 1 ARRIVE HANOIArrive at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi where you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Hanoi is located on the bank of the Red River. It is a fascinating city filled with impressive French and Chinese architecture. Numerous lakes and tree-lined boulevards give the city an air of tranquility. Afternoon tour to Bat Trang Village. Located is farmlands 15 kilometres from Hanoi, this small village is famous for its painted pottery.
Day 2 HANOI - HALONG BAY - HAIPHONG (B,L,D)Drive to Halong Bay (165 kilometres east of Hanoi) and enjoy a relaxing 5-hour boat trip through Halong Bay where more than 3,000 limestone islets vegetation covered islands rise from the emerald coloured Gulf of Tonkin. This is one of the most scenic areas in the country, listed as a world heritage area of outstanding beauty. many of them containing beautiful grottoes. A fresh seafood lunch is prepared and served on board. Drive to Haiphong for overnight.
Day 3 HAIPHONG - HANOI (B,L,D)Drive back to Hanoi and visit the Ethnology Museum. After lunch, visit the Temple of Literature, Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum (from outside) his residence and "One Pillar" Pagoda. 1 hour cycle tour to visit Hoan Kiem Lake, Ngoc Son Temple and the historic old part of the city. In the evening attend a performance of the famous Vietnamese traditional art of water puppetry at Thang Long Theatre.
Day 4 HANOI - HUE (B,L,D)Transfer to the airport for a flight to Hue, the former royal city of the 13 ruling Nguyen dynasties. We will visit the Imperial Citadel and the Purple Forbidden City. If time permits we will take a boat trip on the Perfume River by motorized sampan to Thien Mu Pagoda.
Day 5 HUE - DANANG - HOI AN (B,L,D)Visit the tombs of the ruling emperors tu Duc and Khai Dinh. After lunch we start the spectacular drive over Hai Van Pass to Danang and continue to the charming historic city of Hoi An.
Day 6 HOI AN - DANANG - HO CHI MINH (B,L,D)Enjoy a leisurely discovery tour on foot of some of the historic merchant and community houses, places of worship, and famous bridges of Hoi An. Take a short boat trip across the river to a boat builder's yard, visit a pottery and brick-making village. Depart for Danang with a stop enroute at the Marble Mountains. While in Danang visit the Cham Museum, which houses a collection of artefacts dating back to the 4th century when this area was ruled by the Champa Kingdom. Transfer to the Danang Airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh (Saigon). Here you will be met and transferred to the hotel.
Day 7 HO CHI MINH - CU CHI TUNNELS (B,L,D)In the morning drive to Cu Chi province and visit the amazing complex of underground tunnels. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City and visit Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, War Museum, Cholon (Chinatown), Thien Hau Pagoda and Ben Thanh market.
Day 8 HO CHI MINH - MY THO - CAN THO (B,L,D)Drive to My Tho and visit Vinh Trang Pagoda. Enjoy a boat ride on the Mekong River and visit an orchard on a river island, with lunch at a local restaurant. Drive to Can Tho with a stop at Thot Not to visit Bang Lang Stork Sanctuary. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 9 CAN THO - HO CHI MINH CITY (B,L,D)Boat trip to Cai Rang Floating market, you will also have the opportunity to watch local villagers producing rice paper, pop rice and rice husking. Lunch at local restaurant. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.Day 10 HO CHI MINH CITY - DEPARTURE (B)Time at leisure until your transfer to Ho Chi Minh City/Tan Son Nhat International Airport for the departure flight.
A valid Visa is required for entry to Vietnam. Tours of Exploration will assist with visa formalities, which include obtaining a pre-visa authorization form prior to submitting the Visa application at the Vietnam Embassy. Two passport size photos and Visa fee are required.
