Spanish at Cujae
CUJAE was founded in 1964 as a spin-off from the Faculty of Technology of the University of Havana. Today, it is the most respected technical university in Cuba organized in 7 Faculties and very estimated in other countries as well. The Campus is very interesting due to its stark architecture where the tropical foliage interacts with the buildings in a pleasant manner. 4 full day of Spanish Instruction at Cujae are included.
Your Instructor
Marlene Samper is a Colombian-Canadian, a graduate in Social Communication from the Tadeo Lozano University in Bogota, where she also received a Masters Degree in Education. She has been teaching for over 25 years. Since arriving in Canada ten years ago, Marlene has taught at the University of British Columbia, Langara College, and Vancouver Institute for the Americas. Seven years ago she began her own school, using a teaching method based on conversation, through which students learn basic language concepts that allow them to explore vocabulary and structure. Culture is a main topic in her classes.
Marlene has also developed a program of Spanish immersion in Canada and in Latin American countries. At this point in her career, Marlene can count many students who have worked with her and now speak and read Spanish successfully.
Local Instruction/Guides
You will be joined in country by an experienced local bi-lingual instructor for the course time and an experienced bi-lingual tourism guide for touring.

Day 1 | Sun Mar 21 ARRIVE HAVANA (D)
Upon arrival transfer to the Acuario Hotel with all-inclusive plan.
Day 2 | Mon Mar 22 HAVANA (B,L,D)
Breakfast and dinner at the Acuario Hotel. Full day of Spanish classes at Cujae. Lunch at El Ranchon in the CUJAE.
Day 3 | Tue Mar 23 HAVANA (B,L,D)
Breakfast and dinner at the Acuario Hotel. Full day of Spanish classes at Cujae. Lunch at El Ranchon in the CUJAE.
Day 4 | Wed Mar 24 HAVANA (B,L,D)
Breakfast and dinner at the Acuario Hotel. Lunch at El Ranchon in the CUJAE. Morning Spanish classes. After lunch, colonial city tour and return to the Hotel.
Day 5 | Thu Mar 25 HAVANA-VINALES (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Overland trip to Vinales. Upon arrival visit the Indian Cave and the Mural of Pre-history. Lunch in the countryside. Overnight at Rancho San Vicente or similar, dinner included.
Day 6 | Fri Mar 26 VINALES (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Full day tour to the Santo Tomas cavern and La Guira National Park to visit the Che-Guevara comand post. Lunch included in the tour. Return to the hotel, dinner included.
Day 7 | Sat Mar 27 VINALES-CIENFUEGOS (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Overland trip to Cienfuegos via Playa Larga (stop at Bay of Pigs) and Playa Giron to visit the War Museum. Lunch on route. Colonial city tour in Cienfuegos and overnight at Punta La Cueva, Yaguanabo or similar with dinner included.
Day 8 | Sun Mar 28 CIENFUEGOS-TRINIDAD (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Overland trip to Trinidad. Upon arrival, colonial city tour with lunch. Overnight at the all-inclusive Brisas del Mar resort. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 9 | Mon Mar 29 TRINIDAD (B,L,D)
Day at leisure. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 | Tue Mar 30 TRINIDAD (B,L,D)
Breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Day at leisure. Optional tour to Topes de Collantes for a hike to El Caburni Fall, lunch included.
Day 11 | Wed Mar 31 TRINIDAD-SANTA CLARA (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Overland trip to Santa Clara. Upon arrival, visit the Armoured Train and the Che-Guevara Masauleum and museum. Lunch at typical restaurant. Overnight at Los Caneyes or similr hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 12 | Thu Apr 1 SANTA CLARA (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Full day tour to Remedios and Cayo Santa Maria to see the birds, lunch included. Return to Los Caneyes, dinner at the hotel.
Day 13 | Fri Apr 2 SANTA CLARA-HAVANA (B,L,D)
Breakfast. Return to Havana via Varadero for a sightseeing tour, lunch included. Overnight at 3 star hotel in Old Havana. Dinner at one of the Havana’s typical restaurants.
Day 14 | Sat Apr 3 HAVANA (B)
Breakfast. Day in Havana for exploring the colonial quarter assisted by your instructor and guides. Lunch is not included today in order to allow for some free time and flexibility.
Optional: Tropicana Cabaret. Must be reserved and paid in advance – special price $ 85 per person.
