Itinerary: Chongqing-Yichang (4 day)
Day 1: Depart Chongqing
Located in southwest China, Chongqing is a culturally and economically important city with a history of over 3,000 years. The city straddles the Changjian River and was originally known as “Yuzhou” until 1189.
You will board your ship around 7:00pm and the cruise sets sail at 10:30pm.
Day 2: Yangtze River Cruising/Fengdu Snow Jade Cave (B,L,D)
Fengdu, known as the “Ghost City”, is the location where more than 1,000 stone artifacts dating back to the Paleolithic period were found in the Yandunboa are of Sanhe in 1996. These artifacts provided evidence that humans have lived in this area as early as 100,000 years ago. Morning excursion to Fengdu Snow Jade Cave. Once back onboard, you will enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Party, welcome dinner and Crew Cabaret in the evening.
Day 3: Yangtze River Cruising/Shennong Stream Pea Pod Boat Excursion (B,L,D)
A morning optional tour is available to the White Emperor City at Fengjie. The Three Gorges is the general term for Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. Our next destination will be the first two gorges – Qutang and Wu, with a shore excursion to the Shennong Stream by pea pod boat. Xiling Gorge in the afternoon and five-step ship locks of the Three Gorges Dam in the early evening.
Day 4: Yangtze River Cruising/Three Gorges Dam Site
Morning shore excursion at Sandouping to the Three Gorges Dam, arrival in Yichang at about 11:30am and disembark.
Depending on river conditions, alternate excursions may be substituted as follows:
Day 2: Shibaozhai
Day 3: Lesser Three Gorges of Daning River
Day 4: Chinese Sturgeon Museum and Gezhou Dam
